چکیده

1. Data collection High resolution aerial photography was taken in Aberfoyle in September 2002. We selected 12 plots representing mature Sitka spruce stands between 30 and 40 years in age that were surveyed at the beginning of 2003. The aim of this field data collection was the validation of the results of the image processing analysis in the tree counting and LiDAR analysis projects. The proposed method contemplated a survey of both stand and individual tree characteristics covering thinned and unthinned mature Sitka spruce stands (see Figure 1).

Forest Species Classification and Tree Crown Delineation Using Quickbird Imagery

Efficient forest management requires detailed knowledge of forest stands, including species information and individual tree parameters. Remote sensing data are increasingly being used to investigate forest classification at both coarse and fine levels. In this paper, we first examined the capability of QuickBird multispectral imagery for species level forest classification using eCognition soft...

Approach to hierarchical forest cover type classification with object-oriented method

In order to comprehend detailed forest resources, the use of high spatial resolution data is expected. However, the efficeint forest cover type classification method of high spatial resolution data is not cleared yet. So, this study discussed the potential of the forest cover type classification such as classification of coniferous forest, broadleaved forest, and mixed forest, and tree speices ...

Counting the number of spanning trees of graphs

A spanning tree of graph G is a spanning subgraph of G that is a tree. In this paper, we focus our attention on (n,m) graphs, where m = n, n + 1, n + 2, n+3 and n + 4. We also determine some coefficients of the Laplacian characteristic polynomial of fullerene graphs.

Evaluation of hierarchical segmentation for natural vegetation: a case study of the Tehachapi Mountains, California by

i ABSTRACT Two critical limitations for hyperspatial imagery are higher imagery variances and large data sizes. Although object-based analyses with a multi-scale framework for diverse object sizes are the solution, more data sources and large amounts of testing at high costs are required. In this study, I used tree density segmentation as the key element of a three-level hierarchical vegetation...

Multi-scale Segmentation of High Resolution Remote Sensing Images by Integrating Multiple Features

Most of multi-scale segmentation algorithms are not aiming at high resolution remote sensing images and have difficulty to communicate and use layers’ information. In view of them, we proposes a method of multi-scale segmentation of high resolution remote sensing images by integrating multiple features. First, Canny operator is used to extract edge information, and then band weighted distance f...
